Statement of Intent

Statement of intent:

How you intend to use Media Language to target your intended audience:

I will use techniques like a variety of shots of the latest artists and music players like bass boosters. My front cover will incorporate a close up of a massive music personality to make sure people know what my magazine is about. Another is the inclusion of lots of bright colours so the magazine becomes eye catching. On the front cover I’ll also have a very large and bold font which will be easy to read from anyone walking past. It will also be written in a colour like red, green, blue or any other bright colour. I’ll also have the title as something intriguing like a new song release or new album. The layout of my magazine is going to be like a classic music magazine with the contents of my magazine being written on the left side and the price of the magazine being written at the bottom. My price of the magazine will be one pound fifty.

How you intend to use Media Representations that are appropriate to your intended audience of intent:

My target audience is the ages 14-20 and people interested in American rap mainly. Many high profile celebrities and Instagram influencers will be included so this will attract a strong audience from all the celebrities vast fan bases. An example of a celebrity that would be featured is people like Juice Wrld, Lil Mosey and Iann Dior. These are very relevant in the rap genre as all have recently released music with Juice Wrld even recently making an album called death race for love. Another way I will attract readers is through exclusive interviews because people like unseen information. Also I will feature a section on up and coming rappers like Lil Tecca who has recently blown up and will attract a lot of readers.

Media theories

In this post I am going to look at the intentions behind 3 media texts.

Image result for secret life of pets 2
Secret life of pets 2 is a family friendly lighthearted adventure for kids. It has no real scary of violent scenes this makes it okay for audiences that it was trying to appeal to. So I think this film was made and advertised correctly. The advertisement was through McDonalds happy meals also directed at kids.

Image result for SLENDERMAN
Slender man in my opinion was absolutely terrible it is supposed to be a horror film but when i saw it, it was shocking. Slender man himself wasn't scary at all. To be honest it was falsely advertised with some scenes in the trailer appearing much scarier but in the film they were almost laughable.

Image result for it 2
IT chapter 2 has so far been appropriately advertised because the advert starts off with a long scene from the actual film so its not being falsely advertised, like slender man. Also it seems to be following of the book in terms of content. It is a horror film aimed at adults and teenagers.
